I can confirm that Prince Albert was definitely a Hammer. One of Thames Ironworks' best customers, I hear. Plus he had a dock near the ground so he could get to matches easily in the Royal steamer.

Re: West Ham Celeb fans list
Someone commenting on a shirt does not make them a West Ham fan. The whole thread becomes pointless if people are going to post bollocks like that.

Well, he once told me he loved my jersey (which was a West Ham shirt) when I saw them in Orlando so I am counting him in.

Speaking of Prince Albert, I remember back in the 70’s and 80’s that the late King Olaf of Norway used to be a regular visitor to the Boleyn.

Bruce Compton, Rainham born, former para and now the star of TV’s ‘Combat Dealers’, is a big Hammer’s supporter. I’ve met him several times at various military events and shows. He has also supplied military vehicles and hardware for various Hollywood films.

Pentonville

I think he must be about 57-60. Born in France, but moved to Hornchurch in his teens. He was one of the Hammers who took over the stock exchange floor and made a killing in the 80s, when the Hoorah Henries employers realised that cockney geezers could earn them more. He moved back down there years ago, and manages the marina his old man founded, and occasionally DJs.

His dad, who must have been getting on when he conceived him, was the man who unified and lead the southern French resistance, who were made up of loads of groups who didn’t get on with each other. A real character and hero.

I’ve said too much already.
